ASIA-PACIFIC ECONOMIC COOPERATION
20th Anniversary Essay Writing Contest

This year APEC celebrates its 20th Anniversary - twenty years of promoting open dialogue, advancing free trade, and improving the business environment in the Asia-Pacific region.
To mark this anniversary, we invite business students - the business leaders of tomorrow - from our 21 member economies to write an original essay on: "What can APEC do for Business?"

First Prize

An all-expenses paid trip for the winner to be part of the 2009 APEC CEO Summit and APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting in Singapore in November. The winner will be given the opportunity to present his/her essay during the 2009 APEC CEO Summit, and the chance to also meet with his/her economy's Leader. The prize includes the cost of flights to Singapore, hotel accommodation in Singapore and a per diem allowance. A US$500 cash prize will also be awarded. In the event that a Singapore-based student wins the competition, a cash equivalent to the value of the flights and hotel accommodation will be provided.
Second Prize

A US$1000 cash prize will be awarded to the first runner-up. If the winner cannot attend the 2009 APEC CEO Summit in Singapore, the first runner-up will take his or her position.
