By ANCILLA WRAKUALE of The National

THE first PNG Women in Business Summit is all set and ready to go from March 25-27, says National Development Bank relationship manger for women in business, Janet Kaule.
Kaule said preparations for the NDB-organised summit were well underway with overwhelming response from women nationwide to attend.

She said they received over 1,000 interests from women around the country but the summit could only cater for 300 participants.
“The NDB is confident that we are addressing the needs and requirements of the PNG women in business as articulated in the research that we have done and this summit will give them real value”, she said.
The summit will also feature six inspirational international women speakers from Australia who will share their experience with PNG women.
It will provide insights into business trends globally and nationally, how to access funds at NDB and evaluating business opportunities, amongst other topics.
“The highlight of the summit will be on what NDB has developed as a product that women in business in PNG have been waiting for,” Kaule said.
“The product will employer and lift PNG women in business to new heights and will open great, big doors for them.”
Kaule could not name the product now but said it would be a surprise announcement for women at the summit.
Kaule said those who could not make it, could pay for DVD copies of the summit at their local NDB branches.
NDB managing director Richard Maru said summit was aimed at informing those women who are already into business and those wanting to start business.
“The response is overwhelming and was beyond our expectation” Maru said.
He said there would be many exciting announcements at the summit for the women to lift them to new heights in business.
