The National is back online

The National, Papua New Guinea’s No. 1 daily newspaper, is back online after a nasty glitch had the newspaper offline and affecting its many readers from all over Papua New Guinea and the world for the last couple of weeks.

IT manager Glen Vitou made the announcement as he pressed on the button at 3pm today.

“The site can be viewed now,” he said.

“We have gone live but we’ll continue to improve on the looks of the site.

“We were able to go live yesterday, but because of the images weren’t displayed correctly, we had to sort that out.

“As of 3:00 o’clock this afternoon we turned the offline mode to go live.

“We have updated this week’s entire data into the site, where people can read.

“We still have to add new features such as RSS feeds, contacts and a sub-site for Star Printers.

“We will be continuing to upgrade our site with added features in the near future so keep an eye out for the changes.”
