Former Lutheran general secretary to contest for Tewai-Siassi

Former Evangelical Lutheran Church of PNG general secretary Isaac Theo has found another “calling” in politics.
He has put up his hands to contest the Tewai-Siassi seat in Morobe province, held by another former senior ELCPNG church officer Vincent Michaels, under Anderson Agiru’s People’s United Assembly banner.

“I see this as a new calling,” Theo said.
“When I left as church secretary, I said God has closed one door for me, but has opened another.
“I see that shipping services and road networks have not developed over the last 30 years in Tewai-Siassi.
“I see that leadership is lacking.
“I see that there is no quality of leadership so I’m putting my hands up.”
Theo, 50, from Oropot village on Siassi Island was ELCPNG general secretary from 2006-20120 and is a communications engineer by profession.
