Grade 10 students throughout the country will sit for
their national examinations beginning today, The National reports.
At the Gordon Secondary School in
NCD, students were busy cleaning and tidying up the examination halls and
getting the chairs and other exams logistics prepared for today.
The exams will
run for 10 days with students sitting for eight different papers, under the
reformed outcome-based education curriculum, unlike the four core subjects in
the past. – Nationalpic by AURI EVA
The former education reform that allows the first 3 years for vernacular learning (elementary education) had caused discrepancies amongst children in the rural PNG vs city schools. Now with this, What is the expected outcome of the new reform for Grade 10s exams? As a parent I need to know this….frankly asking.
ReplyDeleteI have read much about the Outcome Based Education (OBE)system and the only conclusion I can draw is that the OBE system is meant to dumb our children down. I wonder who is advising Education Minister and those responsible for this mess.
ReplyDeleteThe Outcome Based Education (OBE) may have more advantage over the old system. However, can those research findings be made known to the public so that learned people under past system know the benefits of OBE and appreciate this development in the education system.
